Many thanks to GROSMONT for creating this month's quiz. It is not as difficult as I would have made it. GROSMONT was inspired by the picture of Vaino Myllyrinne and the Charlie Chaplin look a like and created a quiz of celebrities posing with giants. Can you tell me who the giants are?

Heh, good quiz, I know half of these - but I'll have to look some up for spelling!

3. I think is Ivan, the tallest Obama supporter (will have to look up his surname!)

4. That has to be Lock Martin as GORT

5. Harold Lloyd with John Aasen

6. David Frost...so that's with Don Koehler

9. with a young Robert Wadlow?

11. with Ted Evans

12. eh? That's Richard Kiel. (in the photo!)

13 is Billy Crystal so the giant will be a basketball player who acted. something like Georghe Muresan but I forget the spelling.

If I'd waited another day, I could have included Dorothy Lamour (with Reichert) and Wallace Beery (with Madsen). The rather sad thing, from our point of view, is that in most cases, at the time the photo was taken, the celebrity would have been known to far more of the general public than the giant would. Don't forget, you're really supposed to spot the celebrities as well.

Don't be fooled by the picture of Richard Kiel. He isn't the giant, he's the clebrity!

Then the celeb in number 11 is none other than Jack Dempsey, the -- in my opinion -- greatest heavyweight to ever step into a ring. At his peak, anyway. Steve V.

Number one would be Johnny Weismueller (spelling?) with Max Palmer from KILLER APE.

Number nine is Primo Carnera with teenaged (and still towering) Robert Wadlow.

Number six is David Frost with Don Koehler (spelling?) from the Guinness Book television special.

I seem to remember Madsen visited the White House, indeed I think one of the photos shows him on the steps. But there doesn't seem to be a picture of him with the President, whoever it was at the time. Wadlow did meet the Governor (or was it ex-Governor?) of New York, on the Empire State building, and there's a picture of Petursson with the former President of Iceland. You'd think politicians would like the chance of some publicity, but they don't often get photographed with giants.

Furthermore, the giants have been identified in 3 (basically) and 4. The celebrity has been identified in 12, but the other guy in that picture is a lot taller.
