[The Tallest Man]

Sun Mingming, who was formerly one of the world's tallest professional basketball players, is going back to school to pursue higher education. Zhang Yue speaks with him in Harbin.

Sun Mingming is adjusting to life since he swapped the basketball court for the classroom, ending his contract with the Beijing Ducks and his career as one of the world's tallest professional players - standing at 2.36 meters, after a 2005 brain surgery in the United States halted his continual growth caused by gigantism.

He's still getting used to a less disciplined existence, he says.

Sun now wakes up naturally and doesn't have to rush for breakfast or warm-up exercises before his daily training, as he has done for the past 15 years.

"I'm still adjusting to a normal life," Sun says.

Not sure if the tall man in the photo next to Ming Ming is Pau Gasol or someone similar (perhaps his brother Marc?), If it Gasol Pau were measured 7' 1" giant looks like nearly 8 feet and not a 7' 9"seeing that the giant is some inches behind. I do not measuring in the photo, it's just my guess.

Thanks Bearman and Roger. Yes, Ming Ming should be 1" more with their thick soles. To note that Gasol has dress shoes, which have a thick heel as the average man's perhaps a little higher but I do not think that much.

In some places it is reported that Gasol is 7 'and other is 7' 1". Be that the 7-foot-measure are without shoes and reaches 7'1" basketball shoes. I think 2.15m Gasol in his shoes in that picks, no more.
