Fully expecting and anxiously looking forward to the new stuff coming out of the Pandora's box that the incomparable Mask has cracked open - rather than putting all the findings all over the place in different threads - Let's stick it all here. Interestingly, this archive news search function is relatively new to Google - so I don't have to feel like an idiot for not having known about it.

Here's my most recent finding - about a giant we don't have on site yet. I think he was about 7'2" so this article is a laugher (sleep 36 hours and wake up taller ). Enjoy.

Interesting and remarkably accurate discussion of contemporary giants in Boston paper of 1895.

Mentions Winkelmeyer as only confirmed 8 footer. And he might have been. I think he was 7'10" or better - though the 7'8" he's given on this site is appropriately conservative.

Goodness. in 1967, Eddie Carmel was 9'7" - -That's approaching Siah Khan in terms of most exaggerated height.

Furthermore we learn that Eddie's grandfather was 7'7" and his brother Igor is 7'4".

Alright, Mr. Tallest Man - so's you don't feel slighted - I found an article in the Times about Machnow. He met Teddy Roosevelt (who wanted to wrestle/fight him) and Feodor was a friend of the legendary Bat Masterson. Holy Smoke.

So far I haven't found a single newspaper article about John F Carroll. Which seems odd.

1947 Article on Vaino. Sad really. But it is the first article I've seen on him where his height was appropriately exaggerated. Note that the article continues on page 16 (which is page 14 on the google page finder)

Please note that the above submissions were found in half an hour and represent some editing - e.g. I'm not posting Wilkin's Times Obituary - and Dolores Pollards's many articles (yet).
