I apologize for closing the previous topic about giants who were over 9 feet tall :tears:
Now this topic will be open forever

EVEN MORE GIANT RECORDS:

According to a press clipping, dated Nayarit, Mexico, May 14, 1926, Capts. D. W. Page and F. W. Devalda discovered the bones of a race of giants who averaged over ten feet in height. Local legends state that they came from Ecuador. Nothing more has been heard of this, but that is not surprising; the word "giant" will flutter the feathers of any scientist into rapid flight, metaphorically speaking, in the opposite direction. So also with a report from the Washington Post, June 22, 1925, and the New York Herald-Tribune, June 21, 1925. A mining party, it is reported, found skeletons measuring 10 to 12 feet, with feet 18 to 20 inches long, near Sisoguiche, Mexico. The Los Angeles Times, October 2, 1927, says that explorers in Mexico located large human bones near Tapextla, indicating a race of "gigantic size." All this, if unfounded, would be straining
coincidence or imagination pretty far.

Press accounts say that the skeleton of a gigantic man, with head missing, has been unearthed at El Boquin, on the Mico River, in the Chontales district. The ribs are a yard long and four inches wide and the shin bone is too heavy for one man to carry. "Chontales" is an Indian word, meaning "wild men."

In the late 1950's during road construction in Homs southeast Turkey, many tombs of Giants were indeed unearthed. These tombs were 4 meters long, and when entered in 2 cases the human thigh bones were measured to be 47.24 inches in length. They calculated that the person who owned this Femur probably stood at fourteen to sixteen feet tall. A cast of this bone is seen at the Creationist museum in Texas.

Flavius Josephus, the noted Jewish historian of the first century A.D.,
described the giants as having "bodies so large and countenances so entirely different from other men that they were surprising to the sight and terrible to the hearing." And he adds that in his day, the bones of the giants were still on display!

In 1833 the skeleton of a man 12 feet tall (3.6m) was unearthed by soldiers digging a pit for a powder magazine in Lompack Rancho, California. It had a
double row of teeth and was found with a bonanza of huge stone axes, carved shells and blocks with symbols carved on them. The remains were reburied and the location 'forgotten" when the locals saw this as proof of their "pagan" legends of giant gods.

In 1856 a skeleton of a 10' 9" human (3.28 metres) was found in West Virginia while ploughing a vineyard. Local law took the skeleton and said it was a hoax because 3 bullets had been found in the skull. What this had to do with anything or the rest of the huge skeleton is anyone's guess.

In 1885, miners discovered the mummified remains of woman measuring 6 feet 8 inches tall holding an infant. The mummies were found in a cave behind a wall of rock in the Yosemite Valley.

Did you close the topic, arachnid? I don't think I did, unless it was closed while moving it.
I did not know others could close threads, but now they can if they were the thread starter.

I remember seeing that so called mummified six feet eight inch woman with a child in a book many years ago. Some time back whilst doing some reasearch, I was informed that it was in fact a hoax.

Photo:Drawing of a well authenticated mummy found near San Diego in 1895. In life he was estimated by anthropologist to have exceeded nine feet in height. Story covered later in this article.

The corpse of the biggest man who ever lived has been dug up near San Diego. There is no satisfactory record in ancient or modern history to account for any human being nearly this tall. The mummy which is the condition in which the body was found must have been more than nine feet in height in life.

The article goes on to state that there was no question as to its size as the cadaver was carefully measured by Professor Thomas Wilson, Curator of the Department of Prehistoric Anthropology of the Smithsonian Institute and by other experts. According to the article, the man in mummified state still measured eight feet four inches in height.

The man was believed to have been a prehistoric “Indian” whose giant body has been preserved by the arid weather of the region. The body had been found in a cave near San Diego by a group of miners. The remnants of a leather band had been found over his head and he appeared to be well advanced in years.

The writer went on to speculate that this was the tallest man ever found or described outside of the Bible

Photo:Giant human footprints (or alleged human prints) have been found in Carson Nevada, near Lovelock, in New Mexico, in the Grand Canyon and many other locations around the world. These sandals were found in Lovelock cave, in Nevada, whee 8 foot red haired mummies were also found. Note that these sandals are nearly two feet in length while a man’s shoewear today on average would be around 12 inches….

Beach Giant’s Skull Unearthed
By WPA Workers Near Victoria
Believed to Be Largest Ever Found in World; Normal Head Also Found
San Antonio Express – January 7, 1940, San Antonio, Texas

“That Texas “had a giant on the beach” in the long ago appears probable from the large skull recently unearthed in a mound in Victoria County, believed to be the largest human skull ever found in the United States and possibly in the world.

Twice the size of the skull of normal man, the fragments were dug up by W. Duffen, archaeologist, who is excavating the mound in Victoria County under a WPA project sponsored by the University of Texas. In the same mound and at the same level, a normal sized skull was found.

The pieces taken from the mound were reconstructed in the WPA laboratory under supervision of physical anthropologists. A study is being made to determine whether the huge skull was that of a man belonging to a tribe of extraordinary large men or whether the skull was that of an abnormal member of a tribe, a case of “giantism”.

Giant Human Tracks In Association with Dinosaur Tracks at Paluxy-1930

In 1930 Roland T. Bird, field explorer for the American Museum, reported 15-20 inch long “clearly defined” human footprints with dinosaur tracks.

Some skeptics believed that these human footprints were fake. They lifted up more rock ledges along the ride of the river, only to find more prints. One footprint was even cut in half and sawed across the toes. The lamination line was distorted by the mud squeezing up between the toes.

In 1970, James Ryals, who had been cutting out tracks and selling them since the 1930s, was interviewed. He reported the human tracks as mostly barefooted, but sometimes encased in some form of wrapping. The stride varied from two to seven feet. There are human tracks crossing dinosaur tracks, and dinosaur tracks which have blotted out human tracks in sequence.

The Mica Giant

In Brewersville, Indiana in 1879 yet another enormous skeleton was found. According to the The Indianapolis News (1975 edition) the giant skeleton stood 9 feet 8 inches tall! This time the skeleton was actually examined and documented by scientists from Indiana and New YorK. The skeleton was then transfered back into the possesion of Mr. Robinson who owned the land on which the burial mound stood. However, as one is to suspect, in a series of unfortunate events, a flood that occured in 1937 demoloished Mr. Robinsons house and washed away the unusual bones.

More info about the red giants:

Red Giants

In 1911, 22 miles southwest of Lovelock, Neveda, after digging out layers of guano from a cave, miners happened upon the mummified remains of a 6 1/2 foot giant. It could have possibly been a tall Native American if it weren't for the crown of distinclty red hair that was still embedded within its skull. "Amazingly, the ancient legends of the local Paiute Indians described a race of red-haired giants – called Si-te-cahs – who were the enemies of many Indian tribes of the region. " Perhaps....

In 2008 the bones of an ancient giant man were unearthed near Borjomi, in Georgia (Caucasus) and reported in the news. This giant was estimated at 2,50 to 3 meters tall (About 9 to 10 feet) and had a skull about 3 times normal size.

The fact that such giants were once reported in the mainstream press up until about 1950 is very interesting. But similar to other past discoveries such as the "Giant of Castelnau" they always seem to fade from public attention and gradually become forgotten (by design).
